I’m Itchy, smelly and sore in-between my toes. What is causing this?

This is often a sign of athlete’s foot infection. A fungal infection that affects in-between the toes. Best avoided by good footcare, cleaning in-between toes drying well. Avoid using talcum powder as this can make matters worse by congealing and acting to increase moisture between the toes. Infections can be treated with anti-fungal creams and ointments.

Remedies:

  • Tea tree oil applied daily for three weeks
  • Topical anti-fungal ointments for a fortnight eg 1% Clotrimazole available from Supplefeet
  • Decontaminating shoes and socks with an anti-fungal spray e.g. Scholl®
