The Supplefeet Clinicians

Miss Emma Supple, Podiatrist and Podiatric Surgeon - FCPodS, FCPodMed, DPodM, PGDip (Pod)

Miss Supple is a foot specialist, Podiatrist & Podiatric Surgeon, mother, writer, media expert, Brown Owl, creator of Supplefeet.com

inventor of SuppleArches, Central Band Mechanics, "perfect heel height", Supplecream for hard skin and callus and proud grand daughter of Dolly & Bill Supple.

Supplefeet is her vision on how podiatry clinics and services should be;  High quality, innovative and all- encompassing Supple footcare and Suppletherapy services.   A podiatry practice where clinicians and other professionals in the Supple Clinical team work together for greatest benefit to the client.

She completed her training in podiatry at New College Durham and initially worked as a chiropodist and podiatrist in central London. She worked for Enfield Primary Care Trust for over a decade as an Extended Scope Practitioner in Podiatry for the NHS. Miss Supple is now the Podiatric Surgeon at Chase Farm Hospital within the Orthopaedic Directorate since 2005.

Emma studied for her Fellowship in Podiatric surgery at West Middlesex University Hospital for three years. Her tutor was Professor Mark Tagoe. This training included residencies in the USA, where she worked as a podiatrist in Chicago at the Weil Institute with Dr Lowell Weil Snr and then completed a surgical residency in Detroit. Throughout her career she has specialised in the paediatric foot, rheumatology and foot surgery. She has completed a Post graduate diploma in Podiatry at the University of Brighton.

She has served as a Member of Council for the Society of Chiropodists & Podiatrists. During this time she organised two annual conferences and is often asked to comment on the PR representation for television, radio and national media. She is now a Partner in the newly formed Health Professions Council (HPC). She has completed her Masters Surgeon accreditation in Detroit USA in the sub talar joint arthroeresis and was an invited attendee at the Athroeresis Masters Surgeon course in Arizona.

She is regularly asked to lecture and speak and was invited to speak at the world Podiatry conference held in Amsterdam  on her media experiences.

She is a mother of three young children (Lucy-Mary, Arthur and Dorothy) and works alongside her husband Ian in the management of Supplefeet.

She is an innovative clinician with a patent pending for her revolutionary invention of SuppleArches and she coined the term perfect heel height to aid optimal shoe choices. A dedicated high heel wearer herself she has limited patience with her (male) colleagues decrying the use of heels!

She recently appeared on Embarassing bodies- Live from the Clinic, Channel 4; where she introduced the nation to the term "windswept bunions" and, aided by an able assistant, answered questions online about feet  She was also invited back for the last episode to talk about fungal infections affecting feet and toenails.

Even Parliament has experienced the Supple effect with a speech she made to the Parliamentary Health & Safety committee where she highlighted the issues around working feet and women being compelled  to wear high heels for work. The TUC took this up and it was debated at a national level. It generated a huge amount of media attention and  foot comfort and height of heel must now be taken into account!
