Verrucas
Verrucas are warts that occur on the feet and therefore look a little different. They are caused by a virus and are very common. Most verruccas occur in children and disappear with no treatment. If necessary, medicaments can be used and if the verrucas are persistent consult your podiatrist. You may need to undergo surgery when you have not responded to conservative methods of treatment.
Emma Supple's Top tip: If your children are having to wear verrucae socks for swimming, try this; paint them with some nail varnish to seal them in to avoid spreading the infection.
Treatment: For a starter, on generally OK verrucas, tea tree oil with added lemon oil is a great way to start getting rid of them. Especially good for children's verrucas. Do remember that nearly all verrucas disappear within two years. the verruca is painful and/or persists then consult your Supplefeet podiatrist.
