My second toe is longer than the first. I have heard something about cosmetic toe operations?

Having a second toe longer than the great toe is not uncommon. It rarely causes any problems. Sometimes the second toe becomes a hammer toe which can cause problems with rubbing in the shoes and that is what causes a corn or a callus. Simply wearing shoes that accommodate the longest toe is the answer. If problems occur, see a podiatrist. Surgery can be effective at straightening toes and removing painful corns.
